Holistic optimisation and global noise impact

The main objectives of WP 5  are :

to provide a state of the art review of traffic noise barriers optimisations with a critical analysis on the noise prediction models and optimisation strategies used;
to develop an optimisation strategy adapted to typical road and railway traffic noise configurations where both urban and rural areas are addressed;
to apply this methodology to NRD intrinsic acoustic optimisations, whatever their shape and surface impedances;
to apply this methodology to extrinsic and holistic optimisation of NRD combining acoustic, non-acoustic and environmental (site) parameters;
to provide a database of results from these optimisations;
to summarize the main outcomes from WP2 and 6 into a comprehensive final report presenting original results issued from this project and giving recommendations and guidelines through good practices.
